As a young girl I was frequently ill and I enjoyed reading many classic horror stories by M.R James, Ambrose Bierce, Algernon Blackwood, Charles Dickens (the signalman) and one of my favourites Carmilla by Sheriden Le Fanu as well as stories by Lovecraft and Shirley Jackson. I also adored horror films from the age of nine that I saw at my Grandmothers house.
